Woman Time for Young Women 18-25
With Fern Smith and Jenny Archard, July 9th -14th 2018
£390 includes food costs and camping
“One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman.”– Simone de Beauvoir
Join us if you:
- are ready to mark a threshold in your life
- are a young woman or person who identifies as female, from 18-25 years of age
- care deeply about the Earth, her beings and their connections
- you wish to carve out some time to grow, learn, reflect and be with others in nature
- It’s time to make some decisions and you’re not sure what!
The Earth is calling to us. “During a night-time wilderness vigil in the mountains, I found myself surrounded by stars, night hawks and bats. In the early dawn light, in that space between worlds, I felt a group of young women surround me, singing. They call to my soul, ask for help to bring a new world into being, one that supports young women in being who they are, and creating deep, honourable connection with Grandmother Earth.”
Are you Listening?
This 6 day immersion is to crack open your soul and help you fall deeply into who you are. It will be challenging, provoking and take you outside of your comfort into the edge-lands. We will connect to the power of ceremony and attune to the energies of the land. We will be held and guided by nature, and the Four Shields model created by the School of Lost Borders. We will connect to that ancient place of wisdom deep within us and rediscover ourselves as being part of a greater Earth community.
Our days will be made up of time in a circle around the campfire, walks into the woods, cooking and crafting together and late nights under the stars. We will encounter and learn to orient using the map of the Four Shields. We will move from childhood, through adolescence and arrive at the threshold of adulthood, of womanhood - to discover our purpose, recover our power and commit to our future path in the world.
Each day will combine inner and outer practices, mixing activity with reflection, as well as experiencing community and time alone. We will begin by forming our circle, finding our place and orienting to the landscapes inside and outside us. We start where we are, opening to what is. We remember the story that has lead us here whilst knowing that we are each much more than our mere biography.
We will share our dreams, our call to adventure, the challenges that we individually and collectively face. We honour the gifts and qualities as well as the hurts that have shaped us. We create an intention. There will be an initiation, a severing from who we have been in order to move towards celebrating becoming the woman we were born to be.

Coming home to our nature, the Earth and gathering the energy of the summer.
Do you yearn for some time out, away from the hubbub, deep in the woods, gathering with other women to share food, stories and community with all its highs and lows? Do you need the opportunity to dive into a deep connection with your wild nature, with the wildness of all that is around you? Does your body crave sacredness, honouring of the Earth that our bodies are made from, and ceremony to mark important times?
Then this is for you!
During our four days and three nights together we will be held safe in wild and supportive woods on ancient Somerset lands. We will venture outwards on foot to some veteran Oaks near an Iron Age Hill fort and travel inwards with time alone , searching for our place in the story of our lives. We will make things , food and objects, and talk deeply sharing our journey using the Ancient Way of Council and Medicine Wheel.
We hope that you will leave renewed, refreshed and having remembered a little more of your own unique nature. The She who was before modern life got in her way .
Start 6pm Thursday to Sunday 4pm. Camping in the wild-woods of the Blackdown Hills. A deep gathering to celebrate the season. Cooking together on the campfire, living close to the land in tents, hammocks or made shelters. Compost loo, mains water and no showers.
